It’s finally here!!!! I’ve only waited six years for it to arrive, lol. Yes. I had an outstanding bill, which I paid off a few years ago, and I didn’t know you had to actually contact them and have them mail it to you. Thank goodness one of my former students told me about the email address you can write and find out what happened! It’s diploma@indiana.edu, if anyone else has had this problem.
Anyone who says a degree is just a piece of paper is wrong!! It is so much more. What this represents to me is winning against the odds. I almost had to drop out a few times, because I had three major surgeries while I was in school. It represents the hours and hours of hard work studying, writing, reading, and learning with the best of the best in Ethnomusicology. Many people these days are wondering if going to college is worth it, and I say yes!! Find the best in your field, and then study with them; being with the elders is an honor and a privilege, and I was lucky to study there.
